Firearms Seizure in Co Tyrone

West Tyrone Sinn Féin Councillor Frankie Donnelly has said he is shocked by the seizure of firearms in the Drumquin. It is believed the seizure of the arms was on Monday and amounted to two firearms being recovered by the PSNI.

Sinn Féin councillor for the area, Frankie Donnelly said he was surprised by the development

"I am Shocked to find out of the arms seizure in Drumquin. Within recent months residents of Drumquin have been terrorised by a number of individuals but to learn that firearms were at the disposal of these people is alarming. I would urge residents of Drumquin and the surrounding areas to be vigilante in the coming days and weeks.

"Although 2 firearms were seized the PSNI it is my understanding that there have yet to be arrests. I would be called for a pro active approach from the PSNI to arrest those who have been possessing these guns.

Echoing the comments of Councillor Frankie Donnelly was MP and MLA for the area, Pat Doherty

Mr Doherty said

"I am shocked by the revelation that firearms were seized in the Drumquin area, this undoubtedly will create apprehension and uneasiness in the local community and I would urge vigilance in the time ahead"
