Sinn Féin Councillor Glenn Campbell has welcomed confirmation he has received that the Education Authority (EA) is to hold a number of digital admission clinics, including in Omagh, to facilitate parents who have difficulty with accessing the EA online primary/pre-school application process for their children following representations he made on the issue to EA Chief Executive Gavin Boyd last week.

Welcoming the news, the West Tyrone councillor said,

"I welcome the news that the EA has recognised my concerns that some parents, particularly in rural areas have poor internet access and that many also have difficulties navigating the EA online application process. The roll out of digital admission clinics at centres across the north in the coming days is a welcome step in addressing these concerns.

"The local clinic will be held in Omagh Library, 1 Spillar's Place, next Friday 18th January from 10am-12:30pm and hopefully this will provide at least an alternative mechanism for some who have been encountering difficulties in trying to get their child/children enrolled."
