Glenelly Cllr Dan Kelly has called on TransportNI to take urgent steps to address dangers due to the absence of a footpath connecting Fairview Place and Gleneden View to Plumbridge village.

Cllr Kelly said "There are at least 10 school children who walk this route each morning and evening to catch the bus to school. This figure does not include the many other people who use it to go to shops and access recreation and play facilities in the village.

"This is a very busy 'B' grade road which is also travelled a lot by people passing through on their way to Derry and Donegal.

"I have a site meeting arranged with representatives of TransportNI in the area on Tuesday. I plan to take this opportunity to highlight the need for urgent action to be taken at this location".
