West Tyrone MLA Declan Mc Aleer has welcomed a commitment from BT to resolve a long running flooding issue on the Minnadinna Road, Mullaslin. Mr Mc Aleer said "BT carried out a cable laying scheme on the road a number of years ago and damaged a storm drain in the process, resulting in frequent flooding. "This is incredibly dangerous, particularly in icy conditions and a number of residents have told me that the high water level has destroyed the battery alternators of their cars. "This matter has consistently been raised by Cllrs Sean Donnelly and Anne Marie Fitzgerald and I have also been in contact with BT and TransportNI to try and get it resolved. "I recently received a response from TransportNI which clarified BT's responsibility for carrying out the repairs and last week Cllr Sean Donnelly facilitated a joint meeting on-site with TransportNI and BT. "I am glad to report from this meeting that BT has committed to carry out the necessary work and as local representatives we will continue to press them to do this at the earliest opportunity".
