Mc Hugh Welcomes Castlefin Road Resurfacing Works

Published: 17 August, 2015

Castlederg Sinn Fein Councillor Ruairí Mc Hugh has welcomed the recent work being carried out by Transport NI to a stretch of the Castlefinn Road in the town, he said

'' The Castlefin Road is one of the busiest roads in the town of Castlederg and for a number of years has been in a poor condition with water ponding during inclement weather and the emergence of potholes.
'In my liaison meetings with Transport NI, I have continuously been raising the need for serious investment towards the maintenance and up keep of the road and footways especially given the high volume of traffic and it being a main route to St. Patrick's Primary School.

' While there remains a need for further resurfacing to be done on the lower stretches of the road, this work at a time when budgets are very tight is to be welcomed and I would commend Transport NI on taking on board the concerns and needs of the local community ''.
