West Tyrone Sinn Féin -- Building an Ireland of Equals

Broadband Voucher Scheme Welcomed - Fitzgerald

Published: 16 June, 2015

Sinn Féin Councillor Anne Marie Fitzgerald is calling on local businesses to take advantage of the 'Connection Voucher' initiative to upgrade to faster broadband.

Councillor Fitzgerald said;

"In the ever developing business world, having high speed broadband is essential in competing in both the local and global market.

"This initiative allows businesses to apply for up to £3,000 that covers installation costs and equipment costs, in upgrading their broadband connection. "Super fast broadband is available across the north from a variety of providers and already over a thousand businesses have received a 'Connection Voucher'.

"To apply for this grant you must be a small or medium sized business, a registered charity, a social enterprise or sole trader. I would appeal to businesses to take advantage of this initiative and apply by calling 0800 587 4695 to see if you are eligible."

"However, my Councillor colleagues and I will continue to lobby the relevant agencies on behalf of households / businesses with weak broadband connection or none at all."
