Call for youths to desist from congregating at Killyclogher Burn

Published: 3 February, 2015

Sinn Féin Mid Tyrone Councillor Anne Marie Fitzgerald has called on young people to avoid congregating in the vicinity of Killyclogher burn after local residents highlighted concern that youths use the area to congregate at the weekends.

"I have received many calls about young people congregating on a patch of land close to Pinefields in Killyclogher. The site in question is beside the Killyclogher burn river which poses many risks, particularly in dark, wet evenings. I have been contacted by many residents and this is an issue which is causing them great concern.

"I have also spoken to representatives of the PCSP about the issue and I understand the PSNI have been made aware of the situation but are unable to take action as the land is private and there no law being broken. I therefore urge caution and ask the young people involved to stop gathering at this location in the interests of their own safety".
