Sinn Fein West Tyrone MP Pat Doherty has welcomed confirmation that Strabane will be a net beneficiary of a 450 'new jobs' announcement by Allstate which currently employs 1,900 people at its premises at Orchard Rd Industrial Estate in the town as well as in Derry and Belfast. The local MP said, "Today's announcement by Allstate that it is to further expand its operations by creating an additional 450 jobs, over its existing three sites, over next three years is a major boost to the local economy and I am particularly delighted that Strabane will be a net beneficiary of a proportion of these new jobs. "I would commend the company for its continuing commitment to Strabane and its continuing expansion plans. "While I am not yet sure if the new Invest NI Business Park at Melmount Road forms part of these expansion plans, I am confident that with 19 acres of the 40 acre site now available for perspective investors to locate that we now have the capacity to attract both additional inward investment and business expansion projects in the time ahead.
