Donnelly lobbies for Park Road Works

Published: 10 May, 2013

Sinn Féin councillor Sean Donnelly has called upon Roads Service to resurface the Park Road, at Dunmoyle. He said the work would complement work undertaken by Errigal Ciaran GFC who has carried out improvement works to the ground in recent times. Councillor Donnelly speculated that if money become available Roads Service should prioritise the project.

Speaking on the issue councillor Donnelly said:

"Both myself and Barry McElduff MLA had a site meeting a number of months ago with a senior Roads Service official about this issue. I took the opportunity again at the Roads Service meeting with the council on Thursday night to ask Roads Service to look again at the issue. With recent improvement works carried out at Errigal Ciaran Gaelic Football Grounds it would be an apt time to carry out a resurfacing of the road and ensure that road network properly blends into the entrance to the football ground.

"There is a considerable volume of Traffic on this road, particularly on match days. However it is also the main road to the Youth Club, the local Community Centre and Chapel and so given that this is the case I think it would be appropriate that if additional funds for road maintenance were forthcoming from the Department of Regional Development that this project would be a prime one to address.
