On the 97th anniversary of the Easter Rising a large number of people gathered in Clonoe graveyard to remember Volunteers Kevin Kilpatrick, Hugh Gerard Coney, John O'Neill, Brian Campbell and Peter Clancy.

Proceedings were chaired by local Councillor Padraig Quinn and the main oration was given by Sinn Fein Councillor for the area Joe O'Neill.

Joe extended the solidarity of the Republican movement to the families of the volunteers and went onto speak about each of the men commenting on how young each of them were when they lost their lives. He spoke of the need for everyone to be active and to join Sinn Fein to complete the road to a United Ireland for which these Volunteers fought and died.

Wreaths were laid on the graves of each of the volunteers on behalf of the East Tyrone Republican movement and wreaths were laid on the Republican plot on behalf of Coalisland & Clonoe Martyrs Sinn Fein Cumann and Coalisland & Clonoe Ex-Prisoners Association.

Proceedings were brought to a close by the Coatbridge band playing Amhran na bhfiann
