A large crowd attended the graveside commemoration for Vol. Seamus Woods in Pomeroy on Easter Sunday. The proceedings were chaired by local Councillor, Cathal Mallaghan and the Easter Proclamation was read by Dessie Grimes.

Declan Coyle read the Tyrone Roll of Honour and the main address was given by South Derry Republican and Long Kesh escapee, Councillor Sean Mc Glinchey.

During his address, Cllr Mc Glinchey spoke of the courage and sacrifice of Seamus Woods and all of the Volunteers who gave their lives in the struggle for Irish freedom. He reminded the crowd that when the brutal and oppressive role of the British government in Ireland is consigned to the dustbin of history, volunteers like Seamus Woods will be forever remembered for their part in the struggle for Irish freedom'
