Completion of Shanaragh re-alignment scheme welcomed
Published: 14 February, 2013
Roads Minister Danny Kennedy, pictured with Divisional Roads Manager, Pat Doherty officially opened the recently completed Shanaragh re-alignment scheme on the main A32 road between Omagh and Dromore on Wednesday morning.
One of those in attendance at the opening was DRD committee member, Declan Mc Aleer MLA. Speaking afterwards he said:
'The A32 is a vital piece of infrastructure for the people of this district. It is the main route for patients needing to access acute services in the Erne so any measures that will increase safety and reduce journey times is warmly welcomed.
'The Minister originally set a deadline of March 2013 for completion of the £7.3 million Shanaragh realignment scheme so I wish to commend DRD for completing the project ahead of time. I now look forward to progress on the A32 schemes at Cornamuck, Eskerboy and Kilgortnaleague and hope that they can progress with the same efficiency'.
