Mc Guire welcomes commitment by Donegal County Council to carry out works on the 'Dergline'

Published: 13 February, 2013

Following representations and meetings over a number of months by Aghyaran Sinn Féin councillor Kieran Mc Guire, it has now been confirmed by Donegal County Council (DCC) that works will be carried out on the road from Corgary towards Donegal Town and Ballybofey, known as the Dergline. Cllr Mc Guire stated 'In recent months I've had a number of meetings and contacts with DCC councillors and officials about ensuring that the Donegal section of this road has improvement works carried out on it due to its current poor state. This was on the back of discussions with local people in that area who were informing me that this road needed urgent attention. I am now happy to say that DCC have given a commitment to me, via Strabane District Council that works will be carried out on a section of this road during their 2013 road works programme. I hope this now happens as a matter of urgency and that it goes in some way to easing the transport problems people can sometimes experience when travelling on this road'
