Ligford Road resurfacing scheme to begin on Monday

Published: 5 February, 2013

Glenelly Sinn Féin Councillor Michelle Mc Mackin has welcomed a substantial carriageway resurfacing scheme to commence on the Ligford Road from this Monday. She says, "I, along with my party colleague Cllr Dan Kelly, have been lobbying Roads Service on an ongoing basis on the condition of the main Strabane to Plumbridge Road. A substantial stretch up to the TV mast was resurfaced last autumn and carriageway resurfacing work will now commence on the Ligford Road, from the junction of the Koram Road to the junction of the Ballynasollus Road. "This work will last for a period of 3 weeks from Monday 11th February to Sunday 3 March and the necessary diversions will be signposted. However, I have been assured that vehicles requiring access to lands abutting the length of the Ligford Road will be accommodated as will any emergency vehicles. "Roads Service says that as additional funding becomes available the resurfacing work will be extended the entire stretch of the main road to Plumbridge
