Declan Mc Aleer MLA during his visit to Omagh postal sorting office
Declan McAleer MLA visited Omagh Delivery Office today to pass on best Christmas wishes and encouragement to the postmen and women at their busiest time of year.
He was shown round the office by local Delivery Office Manager, Paul Devlin and was introduced to the local postmen and women who are working hard doing their bit to sort and deliver all the cards and parcels for the Omagh area in the run-up to Christmas.
Declan McAleer MLA said: "It was great for me to meet the hard-working Royal Mail postmen and women at Omagh Delivery Office and to see first-hand just how much effort they put into delivering for people at this time of year. I was impressesd by the fact that with a small team of 67 staff and 42 vehicles they still manage to get letters and parcels to almost 18000 addresses in the Omagh District EVERY day"
"Postmen and women do such an important job every month of the year and we should all be very grateful for their efforts, but particularly during the cold winter months, when they are at their busiest, and I came here to wish them all the best over the busy festive period and to thank them for all their hard work."
Paul Devlin Omagh Delivery Office Manager said: "Christmas is the busiest time of year for Royal Mail. Our people really do pull out all the stops throughout the year to ensure mail is delivered quickly, but even more so over the busy festive period. We are really grateful that Mr McAleer came along to see the hard work that goes on behind the scenes."
