West Tyrone Sinn Féin -- Building an Ireland of Equals

Welcome for Sixmilecross Street Work

Published: 16 July, 2012

Sinn Féin Mid Tyrone Councillor Sean Donnelly has welcomed work improvements due to begin on Sixmilecross Main Street as long overdue. He was speaking as it was confirmed that up to 60 metres of the street is to be resurfaced by DRD Roads Service.

Speaking Councillor Donnelly said: "The poor state of Sixmilecross Main Street has been of concern for well over a year now so this work, although long overdue, must be welcomed. I had previously lobbied senior officials within DRD Roads Service on the poor state of the road surface on Main Street in. So confirmation that this issue is set to be addressed in the coming weeks is welcome. This work, due to commence in the coming weeks, will hopefully pay dividends for local residents, business owners as well as those who use the road on a regular basis.

"Sixmilecross has been one of the worst streets which I've come across anywhere in the north and this work to fix that is very timely and important.
