Welcome for Enniskillen Hospital Bus Link

Sinn Féin Omagh town councillor and West Trust Local Commissioning Group member Sorcha McAnespy has welcomed confirmation that Omagh is going to have an enhanced bus service to the new hospital in Enniskillen. This will see Translink buses from Omagh stopping at the new hospital as well as added additional services to the schedule.

The additional services will see a bus from Omagh to Enniskillen at 5:30pm operating via Trillick whilst the other new service departing at 6:30pm will operate via Fivemiletown. A number of other changes will be made to the existing service. The existing 5:05pm departure from Omagh woll be discontinued. The 11:15am departure to Irvinestown will operate at 11:00am and the 9:05am service will no depart at 9:00am. On Saturday the 3:45pm service will now depart at 3:30pm. The confirmation was contained in correspondence between Councillor McAnespy, local MLA, Barry McElduff and senior officials within Translink.

Mrs McAnespy had raised the issue consistently through the Western Trusts Local Commissioning group. Speaking on the issue councillor she said:

"I welcome the enhanced services for those wishing to visit the new hospital in Enniskillen. I had raised this as an issue of concern through the Western Trusts Local Commissioning Group and so i am relieved that Translink have stepped up to the mark and introduced this enhanced services. These changes came into effect on 18th June and are operational at present.

"Access to services is a fundamental right and certainly I am hopeful that this enhanced service will go in some way to alleviating the concerns of people wishing to visit loved ones in the new Enniskillen hospital.CRÍOCH
