New DARD Telephone Numbers

Published: 26 April, 2012

Sinn Fein Mid Tyrone Councillor Sean Donnelly has said local people, particularly those involved in farming need to be aware that DARD's telephone numbers are changing. The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development is replacing its 028 prefix office numbers and 0845 prefix numbers with 0300 prefix numbers.

Highlighting the issue councillor Donnelly said:

"It is my understanding that the 0845 prefix numbers have been replaced with the new 0300 numbers in mid-April and the 028 prefix office numbers will be replaced at the end of June. It important that those in the agricultural sector are aware of these changes.

"The new system will help users speak to the right people within the Department whatever the query is. It aims to become more user friendly and streamline the service. All of these improvements if implemented as promised will ensure a better, more efficient and easier to use service.

"All calls to the new numbers will be charged at local rate. Although the 028 prefix will remain active until the end of June the new numbers have already been made active, so anyone who wants to start using them now to get used to the new system can do so.CRÍOCH
