Sinn Féin welcomes pharmacies decision
Published: 21 December, 2011
In October, I was signatory to a Sinn Féin motion in the Assemblycalling on the Minister of Health, Social Services and Public Safety to put a contingency plan in place to protect pharmacy services in rural and socially disadvantaged areas following the introduction of new funding arrangements
"So I very much welcome this ruling for community pharmacies. Sinn Féin were concerned the impact the cuts would have on pharmacies in rural areas and those of high depravation.
"The Department needs to appreciate the good work that community pharmacies are doing throughout the North.
"Community pharmacies provide a crucial service to people most in need and we need to protect this vital service to patients." CRÍOCH/END
