Mc Hugh encourages strong response to Clady post office re-opening consultation.

Sinn Féin councillor Maolíosa Mc Hugh has urged residents of Clady and surroundings hinterlands to mobilise a strong response to the public consultation that has been announced proposing to re-open the Post Office Branch in the village which has been closed since 2009.
Cllr Mc Hugh said,
"The proposal from Post Office Ltd is to re-open Clady Post Office as and from Monday 21 November. The absence of this essential service in the village for the past two years has not only presented a major inconvenience for local people but has also meant that local people have had to incur the additional expenses of travelling to and from Strabane to access the multiple range of service that the Post Office now provides.
"This announcement has been long awaited and is being met with great relief locally. However, there is a wide degree of disappointment over the proposal to limit the opening hours from 10am -12noon, Monday to Thursday given that these times would be impractical for many people given work and other commitments.
"As an elected representative for the area I will be submitting these views to the consultation and I would similarly encourage as many people as possible to also write in or e-mail seeking that the proposed limited opening hours be extended substantially.
The consultation runs until 22 November and contact details are:
