Proposed transport cuts could further isolate the Sperrins region

CHRISTMAS CHEER DELIVERED TO POSTAL WORKERS AT STRABANE DELIVERY OFFICE

Pat Doherty MP and Michaela Boyle MLA visited Royal Mail's Strabane sorting office on Friday morning to pass on Christmas wishes and encouragement to the local postal workers at their busiest time of year. The Sinn Féin delegation were shown around the office by the Delivery Office Manager, Seamus Kelly, and were introduced to the postal staff who are working hard sorting and delivering mail in the run-up to Christmas. Loughmacrory wins cleaner and greener community award

The community of Loughmacrory was celebrating at the weekend after winning an award for being a clean and green community. The scheme was launched in May by the Housing Executive and is aimed to reward rural communities for their environmental work. The awards were presented to 4 communities throughout the north with Loughmacrory winning the small village category. Read full article

Proposals for an Omagh cycling master plan received a boost last week when the Head of DRD's Cycling Unit, Andrew Grieve visited Omagh in response to an invite from Declan Mc Aleer MLA. Mr Grieve held a meeting with representatives of Omagh District Council, DRD Western Division and members of Omagh Cycling Initiative (OCI), where the proposed Omagh master plan was put on the table.
