Remembering Quilts to go on display for Kathleen O'Hagan Anniversary

The Relatives For Justice Remembering Quilts will be on display as a part of the programme of Events to mark the 20th Anniversary of the murder of Kathleen O'Hagan. The quilts will be on display in Greencastle Community Centre from 6pm on Friday 8th August. Read full article

Omagh Sinn Féin launch Aid appeal for Gaza

SF Reps Catherine Kelly; Declan Mc Aleer and Glenn Campbell launch the children of Gaza appeal

Sinn Féin in the Omagh District has launched an appeal for aid for the stricken children of Gaza. Members of the public can drop clothes and equipment into their office on James Street until the end of next week, Friday 8th August. These will be shipped to Gaza. Read full article

£90,000 improvement scheme for Sion Mills welcomed- Sinn Féin

Local Community to remember Kathleen O'Hagan

Sinn Féin has this week announced plans to commemorate the 20th Anniversary of the murder of local Greencastle mother of five, Kathleen O'Hagan. Kathleen, who was seven months pregnant, was shot dead in front of her children by the UVF in her Co. Tyrone home on 7th August 1994. Read full article

Omagh Cycling master plan moves a step closer

The creation of an Omagh cycling master plan moved a step closer during the week as members of Omagh Cycling Initiative, DRD and West Tyrone MLA Declan Mc Aleer got on their saddles for a tour of the existing network. Read full article

Mc Guire welcomes HE improvement schemes in Victoria Bridge and Killeter

Derg Sinn Fein Cllr Kieran Mc Guire has welcomed confirmation that Housing Executive homes on Fyfin Road, Victoria Bridge will be included in a wider district kitchen replacement scheme which will be undertaken later this year. He is also welcomed the announcement of an ECM scheme for Killeter which he has also been lobbying for. Read full article

Omagh could become a cycling hub - Mc Aleer

West Tyrone MLA Declan Mc Aleer has said that Omagh has the potential to become a cycling hub and an example for other towns. Mr Mc Aleer was speaking after organising a meeting with senior DRD and Omagh District Council officials where the Omagh Cycling Initiatives (OCI) master plan for a joined up cycling network was discussed.
