Farmers should apply early and online for Single Farm Payment

Mc Aleer calls for review of deprivation measures

West Tyrone MLA Declan Mc Aleer has said that the current methodology used for measuring deprivation must be reviewed as it does not accurately assess the extent of deprivation in rural areas. Mr Mc Aleer was speaking after co-hosting a seminar entitled 'Poverty amongst Plenty' organised by RCN and the Carnegie Trust. The seminar was addressed by Dr David Marshall (NISRA) and Dr Trutz Haase. Read full article

Momentum building on call for Creggan Road footpath

Momentum is building on a call by local residents and Sinn Féin in Carrickmore for an extension on a footpath on the Creggan road in the Town. Currently there is no footpath provision on the road after it passes the Primary School in the town. Read full article

Boyle welcomes news that £73m North Wing Project at Altnagelvin Hospital is to Proceed

Sinn Féin MLA Michaela Boyle has welcomed confirmation from the Western Health and Social Care Trust that the Department of Health has approved the business case and funding to progress the design and construction of a new 'North Wing' building at Altnagelvin Hospital. Kelly astounded at Response to Glenelly Roads Funding Concerns

Glenelly Sinn Féin Councillor Dan Kelly has said he has no intention of allowing Roads Service personnel treat the people of Glenelly as second-class citizens when it comes to the allocation of funds or provision of services. Cllr Kelly was speaking following this week's presentation by Road Service Network Manager, Mr Sam Webb, on the Local Transport & Safety Measures Report 2014 - 2016, to Strabane District Council.
