Mc Aleer calls for 'fair play' for dairy producers

West Tyrone MLA Declan Mc Aleer has called for dairy producers in the north to be treated on an equal basis as their counterparts in the south. Sinn Fein reacts angrily to British army recruitment plans

Sinn Féin councillor Marty McColgan has criticised the British army after it emerged they will take part in a jobs fair in Omagh on Friday. Claiming that the British army has left a 'bloody legacy' in County Tyrone Councillor McColgan said local job hunters should not be confronted with members of the British army involved in a recruitment drive. Mc Mahon welcomes action on path between Church View/Courtrai Park

Strabane Sinn Fein Councillor Brian Mc Mahon has welcomed action taken by the Council's Technical Services Department to cut back trees and shrubbery that was covering the railings from Church View down the steep incline into Courtrai Park and also erecting a dog fouling disposal bin at the top of the much used pedestrian walkway following representation s he made on behalf of local residents. Former Hunger Striker to address Strabane Commemoration

Former IRA Hunger Striker Raymond Mc Cartney is to the main speaker at the annual commemoration held to remember local republican dead which takes place in Strabane this Sunday with the parade to the Republican Plot at Strabane Cemetery assembling at Bridge Street at 2:30pm. An additional commemoration event will be an evening of song and story entitled "Our War 0ur Story" which will be performed by Derry singer and songwriter Danny Mc Gilloway in the Ballycolman Community Centre between 7-9pm on Saturday evening.
