Tesco must not succumb to sectarian hostility - McElduff

Commenting on the news that children from St Colmghalls GAA Club, taking part in a charity 'bag packing' in the Antrim branch of Tesco, were forced to remove their club kits due to complaints, Chairman of the Assembly's Culture Arts and Leisure Committee, Barry McElduff MLA said, "I have to express my utter disgust". Doherty calls upon DSD Minister to clarify DHSS Office proposals

West Tyrone Sinn Fein MP MLA Pat Doherty says that DSD Minister Margaret Ritchie needs to clarify in detail her plans for the future of the Social Security Agency's local office network following her announcement yesterday that she is taking forward, in amended form, some of the proposals of the SSA Strategic Business Review to centralise DHSS benefits services under the term "Customers First." A national conversation - SInn Fein public meetings across Ireland

West Tyrone MP MLA Pat Doherty has announced details of 10 public meetings to be held across the North in the coming weeks as part of the programme of nation building. Electoral office move Vindicates Sinn Fein's position

Sinn Fein's Sean Begley has said a combination of pressure and lobbying from the party has paid off after the Electoral Office revealed that it will now use records from the Department of Work and Pensions database in order to verify addresses of citizens on the electoral register. Tyrone republicans converged in Carrickmore on Easter Sunday to commemorate Irelands patriot dead. The Commemoration was the centrepiece to a weekend that had seen over 30 graveside commemorations and parades in Coalisland on Easter Saturday and Ardboe on Easter Monday. Read full article

Sinn Fein criticises lack of notification about Strabane Electoral Registration and Electoral ID processing event.

Strabane Sinn Féin Councillor Michaela Boyle has moved to highlight the fact that there will be an Electoral Office Registration and Photographic Identification clinic in the Alley Theatre between 4pm and 7.30pm in the town today but has criticized the lack of pre-notification and pre-publicity about the event.
