Sinn Féin launch Easter lily campaign.

Winnie Harte and Martin McColgan, Chairperson of ODC launching the Easter Lily

Sinn Féin launched the Easter campaign in the Omagh District Council offices on Tuesday Evening. Sinn Féin chairperson of the council, Marty McColgan was joined by Winnie Harte to perform the launch. Winnie's sons, Gerard and Martin Harte were shot dead by the British SAS in 1988 whilst on active service at Drumnakilly. Read full article

Republican ex Prisoner group launched

Ex Prisoners from Mid and West Tyrone will assemble on Saturday to officially launch Abhaile Aris - a support organisation for people who have served time in jails as a result of the conflict. The launch will include the official opening of an arts and craft shop on James Street, Omagh at 3pm. Read full article

Mc Gill welcomes increase in Financial Assistance for Water Main Connections to rural dwellings

Sinn Féin West Tyrone MLA Claire Mc Gill has welcomed the announcement by DRD Minister Conor Murphy of an increase from £6,500 to £10,000 in the financial assistance being made available to householders requesting a water main extension to serve an existing property. Read full article

West Tyrone MP MLA Pat Doherty met with British Under Secretary of State for Defence, Kevan Jones MP in London on Monday to press the MoD Minister on the transfer of lands at the former military base at Lisanelly for the purpose of developing an Educational Village Campus in Omagh. £150 household fuel payment to be made in April-Mc Mahon

Sinn Féin Councillor Brian Mc Mahon says that £150 fuel payment to low income households throughout the six counties are now scheduled to be made in the month of April and stated that this would be particularly needed given the massive hike in electricity bills during the last quarter. Torchlight vigil held for victims of state violence

Ógra Shinn Féin in Strabane organised a successful torchlight vigil in the head of the town area on Saturday night (28th February). Upwards of 50 local people gathered at the Breslin/Devine monument in Fountain Street, and symbolically lit torches in memory of those killed as a result of British state-sponsored violence. Daunting form deterred many groups from applying for Peace III Small Grants
