Disabled Parking Provision Sixmilecross

Published: 6 July, 2011

Mid Tyrone Sinn Féin Councillor Sean Donnelly has welcomed the announcement that DRD Roads Service will provide a disabled parking bay in Main Street Sixmilecross.

Speaking on the issue earlier this week councillor Donnelly had said the issue was raised with him a number of months ago by local people:

"There was local concern at the lack of disabled parking bays in the

Main Street

of Sixmilecross. It was felt that the provision of such parking bays would be of a huge benefit to those with mobility problems in the local area.

"I therefore undertook to lobby DRD Roads Service about this issue and in a letter dated 8th February I asked Roads Service to look at the issue with a view to providing a disabled parking bay or bays in

Sixmilecross Main Street

"I am therefore heartened that Roads Service has recognised the need for a disabled parking bay and have agreed to provide one. This is particularly welcome news for those with mobility problems and will be much needed when accessing such services as the post office or the local shop.
