Agriculture and Rural Development Minister Michelle O'Neill was present in Omagh on Saturday to attend the Omagh Show. The hugely popular event hosted the 171st Omagh Show and going by the crowds who turned out it proves to be as popular as ever.

Also present with the Minister were local Sinn Féin councillors Declan McAleer, Sorcha McAnespy, Sean Donnelly, Glenn Campbell and current chairperson of Omagh District Council, Frankie Donnelly.

Speaking following their visit to the Omagh Show local Mid Tyrone Councillor Sean Donnelly said

"This year was another well organised and entertaining show. Certainly when you look at the organisation and content of the show it would draw parallels with the Balmoral show in Belfast. The weather proved to be a great addition to the day itself.

"This event has brought a huge boost to the local economy and in these particularly hard times this is a welcome and much needed boost. I would like to commend the organisers for their hard work and dedication to deliver a family fun day out whilst providing a forum for local farmers to showcase local produce and rural life.
