Drumragh GFC clubrooms officially opened

West Tyrone Sinn Féin Cllr, Glenn Campbell and the chair of Omagh District Council, Declan Mc Aleer attended the official opening of Drumragh Sarsfields GFC clubrooms on Saturday morning.

The club, which was founded in 1972 is based in Clanabogan outside Omagh has recently completed a 2nd floodlit pitch and a 2 storey, four room changing pavilion at a cost of over £1 million. Whilst a large part of this was raised through voluntary fund raising, the club also received support from Omagh District Council and SportNI.

Speaking at the event Cllr Mc Aleer said "I would like to pay tribute to Drumragh Sarsfields for their hard work in bring this highly impressive facility to fruition. This is a wonderful example of a family friendly and community based organisation which provides recreation and activities for people of all ages and backgrounds.

Local Councillor for the area, Glenn Campbell, who also attended the opening, said "The people of this area will continue to benefit greatly from the fantastic facilities that are located on this site. The sheer enthusiasm and determination of the committee members and volunteers is inspiring and I wish them continued success into the future".

The formal proceedings were chaired by club stalwart, Adrian O Kane and were addressed by a representative from SportNI, the chairperson of Tyrone GAA County Board, the President of Drumragh Sarsfields, while Monsignor Donnelly performed an official blessing of the new facilities.
