Campbell Calls For Erection of Crash Barriers on Fintona Road

West Tyrone Sinn Féin representative, Glenn Campbell, has called for crash barriers to be erected on the Dromore Road approach to Fintona town.
West Tyrone Sinn Féin representative, Glenn Campbell, has called upon DRD Road Service to take preventative action along a stretch of the Dromore Road on the approach to Fintona town.
Responding to concerns raised by residents in Racrane Court, which is adjacent to the road, Mr. Campbell said,
"I have been contacted by residents of Racrane Court in relation to the stretch of road on the Dromore Road approach to Fintona. Residents are concerned that the presence of a wide grass verge, and the absence of a vehicle restraint barrier on the corner, leaves them vulnerable should a car leave the road.
"Despite much welcome traffic calming measures, this remains a fast stretch of road and I am calling on DRD Road Service to consider the erection of crash barriers between the road and the adjacent properties in Racrane Court."
Mr. Campbell's call follows a recent accident on the Clanabogan Road outside Omagh when a car left the road and was only prevented from sliding into an adjacent property by the presence of trees.
