West Tyrone Sinn Féin councillor Peter Kelly has welcomed the opening of new Trillick Health Centre. Situated in the centre of the village the long awaited state of the arts building has opened within the past number of weeks. Councillor Kelly has campaigned tirelessly for the building of the new health centre since his election to the Omagh District Council nearly 9 years ago.

Speaking this week councillor Peter Kelly said the conclusion of the building of the new health centre was received warmly in Trillick:

"The opening of the Trillick Health Centre is an important and huge milestone in our campaign for better health facilities in Trillick. This particular campaign has been ongoing for many years. When I was elected to the Omagh District Council in 2001 the development of a new health centre for the people of Trillick was my first priority. I am therefore glad that many years later that its development has been brought to a successful conclusion. Is also must be said that it also has been brought about by persistence, pressure and many years of hard work.

"For the local community, the local doctors and the villiage itself this is a welcome development. We are glad that after many years of ups and downs that we are at the stage were the surgery is operational and is fit for purpose and has state of the art, contemporary facilities.

"The modern purpose built centre will serve the people of the Trillick and wider area very well as the old Health Centre done in the past. It will also provide a convenient local point of access to a range of healthcare services for this rural community.

"I'm satisfied that this new health centre signifies provision of up to date healthcare facilities which will be available to the wider community to benefit for years to come."
