Campbell calls on people to have their say on Town Regeneration.

West Tyrone Sinn Féin representative Glenn Campbell has called upon local people from, the Carrickmore, Omagh, Dromore and Fintona areas to have their say on the regeneration of their towns.

Omagh District Council have organised four public meetings in the four towns to help in the preparation of action plans to develop the respective towns. The action plans outline a clear and practical way forward for the delivery of comprehensive and achievable initiatives for the ongoing regeneration of these areas.

The final action plan meetings will take place in the coming weeks in each town. This week West Tyrone Sinn Féin representative Glenn Campbell, who is also a member of Fintona Community Forum appealed to local people and other key stakeholders to have their input:

"I would urge all of those with an interest in the regeneration of these areas to come forward and attend these meetings and let your voices be heard in the regeneration process. This is an opportunity for local people to have a real and meaningful engagement with the people charged with bringing forward social, economic and infrastructural regeneration in these towns.

"As such, I welcome the opportunity to bring forward regeneration strategies in a number of town centres, particularly in the four areas identified.

"Omagh District Council have recognised that many town centres need to be revitalised through regeneration programmes that will create better places for people to live and work. Revitalising town centres is a vital component in promoting growth and investment. By facilitating these engagements, Omagh District Council, along with key stakeholders can ensure that vibrant, well-thought-out town centres can offer modern job opportunities as well as being at the heart of the local community.

Carrickmore - Wed 27th Jan 2010 - Milestone Centre at 7pm

Omagh - Mon 1st Feb 2010 - Strule Arts Centre at 12:45pm and 5:30pm

Dromore - Wed 3rd Feb 2010 - Dromore Community Room at 8pm

Fintona - Wed 10th Feb 2010 - Ecclesvile Centre at 8pm
