Urgency call on Miniburns Road Works

Sinn Féin West Tyrone councillor Frankie Donnelly has called upon road service to undertake vital road works on the Minburns road as a matter of urgency. Councillor Donnelly said that urgent action must be taken at the Miniburns junction of the Omagh, Dromore, Drumquin and Lack roads if serious traffic accidents are to be averted. Read full article

Sinn Féin lobbies for improvements to Adult Special Needs provision in Strabane.

Sinn Féin representatives Claire Mc Gill MLA and Cllr Michaela Boyle met with Department of Health officials in Strabane this morning to press for progress on issues of concern expressed by parents of young adults transferring from Knockavoe Special School to Glenside Adult Training Centre as well as to lobby for much needed investment to improve the physical environment at the Glenside facility itself. North West Gateway Initiative must begin to deliver

Sinn Féin says that North West Gateway Initiative (NWGI), the intergovernmental initiative originally announced in May 2005 and billed as the primary vehicle which would take forward the socio-economic regeneration of this part of Ireland, must now concentrate on delivery on the ground for areas like Strabane District and its Donegal hinterlands- areas that have bourn the brunt of marginilasation and neglect down through the years. Omagh District Chairperson attended unfurling of National Flag in Belfast.

Omagh Council Chairperson and Sinn Féin councillor Martin McColgan was in Belfast last week for the unfurling of the National flag in the office of Belfast's first citizen Tom Hartley. Mr. Hartley placed the Tricolour alongside the Union flag in his office on Tuesday. The Sinn Fein lord Mayor says the gesture will give parity of esteem to both nationalists and unionists in Belfast city. Read full article
